About Us

Nestled among the hills of the national country park, above the picturesque village of Stoke Sub Hamdon is the Prince of Wales. Steeped in History from the Iron age, Roman, medieval and Victorian eras, the area is a haven for walkers, dog owners and families to stroll and play among the hills and woods, and to take in some truly breathtaking views. The Pub itself has great character as well as its own History. There is a warm and welcoming flagstone and Hamstone bar with a wide range of drinks, including real ales served straight from the barrels. Dogs and families with muddy boots are especially welcome! Then there is a small ‘Snug’ with its own wood burning stove, which can seat upto ten people. Leading on from the snug is the Conservatory Restaurant, and further on is the beautiful Chapel, with vaulted beam ceiling and Hamstone walls which makes an ideal conference and function room.

The Food is becoming ever more popular, with a menu of ‘Classic Pub Meals’ , a good choice of chalk board specials re-visiting some old fashioned British dishes as well as modern style choices, and the Sunday roasts including Water Buffalo, Pork, and Free range Chicken are always well received.

All the food is made on site from fresh, locally sourced, grown and reared ingredients including the fantastic new Curries that are served up in the traditional Imli style (Indian tapas) on Wednesday nights.

With quiz nights every 3rd Sunday evening each month, and live music during the Spring/Summer months, the Prince of Wales on Ham Hill is all you could want and more from a traditional Pub.
